Wine is at the heart of all that we do. It is our passion. It is our business. SoNapa is seeking franchisees that bring this same passion into our franchise system. With our unique focus on the wines from the Sonoma and Napa Valleys combined with the perfect complement of appetizers and light meals we have created the perfect business.
Whether you are a veteran business person or this is your first time being your own boss, SoNapa provides you with everything that you need. Some wine knowledge is required as a foundation, but we will work with you to develop your expertise in the wines we carry as well as many of the wines that they are similar to. We have taken the headaches and guesswork out of getting your location open and selecting your inventory. Our comprehensive support from day one helps you get up and running quickly including:
Restaurant Location, Design and Construction
Now is one of the best times to be looking for a location. Not all of these locations are great, but our team works with you to identify the right locations allowing you to open for a fraction of the cost of building out a new location. That combined with falling lease rates makes this a great time to open a wine bar.
Once your location is selected our team works with you to create the ideal floor plan that ensures the optimal utilization. Our back of house layout focuses on maximizing the efficiency of the kitchen and storage areas while our front of the house layout centers around the bar area, wine cellar and seating areas. Our approved architect then works with our sister company, Barringer Construction, to construct your location in a cost effective manner to help you get open on time and on budget.
Training and Operations Manual
Whether you are a restaurant veteran or operating a restaurant for the first time, you will appreciate the support that SoNapa provides. Our two week training program and the
SoNapa Operations Manual guide you every step of the way in daily procedures for opening and operating your wine bar. Once construction has started on your location, we will schedule you for your training at our corporate training store in New Smyrna Beach, Florida.
Among the key topics will be operations procedures that take you from open to close on a daily basis, including wine knowledge, wine vendors, the SoNapa Wine Club, pricing, food preparation and serving, inventory control, wine bar procedures, marketing and point-of-sale usage. Employee management for hiring training and evaluating employees is also covered extensively. In addition you will learn the two keys to running a successful wine bar, product costs and labor, and how to control them.
Marketing Programs
Getting the word out about SoNapa will be one of your primary roles as the franchisee and we provide you the tools you need to get the best results while maximizing your marketing dollars. You could say, we wrote the book on marketing because we did. Adam Barringer actually wrote a book on grassroots marketing for business as part of his PHD program and he will guide you through the steps in marketing your business. We provide you with the plan and the guidance to help you implement it so that you can get up and running quickly with your Grand Opening marketing and you can grow you business with our on-going marketing program.
Wine Membership Program
Imagine having a whole other revenue source beyond your daily wine and food sales. What if this program also increased the loyalty of your best customers and led them tell their friends about SoNapa. That is the power of the SoNapa Wine Club. With great features like wine at cost, exclusive special events and other member only benefits you will quickly develop a loyal and dedicated following.
Wine Buying
Sonoma and Napa Valley produce a wide variety of wines and selecting the right wines at the right prices is an art. With a SoNapa franchise we approve and recommended wines for your wine bar, so you do not have to learn by trial and error. Our system requires wines within the SoNapa pricing structure, while also providing you with some flexibility to add your own influence. Our relationships with vendors provides you with the proper mix of wines.
Menu Development
With fifteen years of experience as an Operating Partner with the Outback Steakhouse and Grillsmith Restaurants, Mr. Barringer has learned a lot about serving great food and doing it consistently. This experience has carried over into SoNapa with extraordinary foods created with a focus on quality and simplicity. This pursuit of excellence continues as new items are always under development to continue to astound our customers with new culinary delights.

Great wine at a reasonable price and in a fast friendly environment is the hallmark by which SoNapa has come to be known. Our franchise business
representatives will visit your location to ensure that these standards are being met and also to offer suggestions on how to improve your operations and any other areas where you need assistance.
