One of the early decisions we made in planning the business was that we wouldn’t try to be “all things to all people” so we focused on California wines from arguably the greatest two growing regions in the world, Sonoma County and Napa Valley. It would take a lifetime to explore the intricacies of those two regions, so why not be great at these two regions rather than being a “warehouse” for the world? All of our wines are hand-selected from Sonoma County and Napa Valley and we personally ensure the quality of the wine before we offer them for sale. We also offer a great dining experience to complement our wine choices. Mr. Barringer’s experience with the Outback Steakhouse and Bonefish Grill restaurants has carried over into SoNapa with extraordinary foods that complement our wines. Our light gourmet fare features flatbreads, salads and California cuisine entrees fitting of a full-service restaurant and yet simple enough to be prepared in our small kitchen without the need for an experienced kitchen staff. This culinary experience elevates SoNapa to a level not previously achieved by other wine bars and restaurants and creates a meal that attracts those with a primary focus on dining to complement the primary market that is the traditional wine consumers. The third component of the SoNapa business model is social entertainment. The foundation for this is a relaxing environment featuring a combination of comfortable leather chairs, granite tables, high top tables and the SoNapa wine bar and restaurant that creates casual seating grouping whether you are by yourself or part of a large group. Flat screen televisions and lively music serve to further enhance the mood. Tastings and events add to the SoNapa experience and create additional opportunities to gather with old friends and meet new ones.
